Free download quickbooks won't convert to pdf

Unable to Save as PDF

I just installed QB Pro 2013 on a new Win8 laptop (ugh) and am finding that I cannot Save invoices as PDF. I get an error:

QuickBooks PDF Generation Message

Quickbooks could not save your form as a PDF file.

Do one or more of the following:

- Close all other open programs and save the form again.

- If the form does not display correctly in Print Preview, this could indicate a printing problem.

Wow. Just as I read this message, an alert popped up saying there was a Maintenance Release (10) that needed to be installed, and QB would automatically be restarted once that was done. Let's see what happens.

Hmm. looks like it installed, but didn't auto restart. When I tried shutting down QB I got the following error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

- pure virtual function call

Clicking OK, I then got a "QuickBooks has stopped working" message from Windows. I clicked Close Program.

Try restarting your system. IF that doesn't work, "Repair" the QB installation from the Windows Programs control panel.

Restarting QB (as an administrator) I now have a QuickBooks Update window. It is currently patching files.
